ELIZA KERR -  PHYSIOTHERAPIST
B Physio (Hons), Post Grad Cert Continence & Pelvic Floor Rehab.

Eliza graduated from physio at Melbourne University, and later attained post grad qualifications in Continence and Pelvic Floor in 2006.

She has worked in both public and private health, in various regions; Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula, and Warrnambool.

Prior to moving to Geelong, Eliza was the senior Women’s Health Physio at the Monash Medical Centre and Jessie McPherson’s Maternity Service, and seeing Continence patients in a private practice in Malvern. She has also worked as a senior Peninsula Health musculoskeletal and maternity physio, and in the Continence Clinic at Melbourne Health.

She also was the chief musculoskeletal physio for 12 Great Victorian or interstate bike rides.

Eliza recently moved to Geelong to be with her husband, and enjoys the lifestyle here.
Outside of work, Eliza enjoys her family, surfing, cycling, hiking, and keeping up with the weeds/insects in her vegie patch!

Eliza is caring and uses a holistic approach, based on firm evidence based therapy. She gets enormous satisfaction in helping people feel better.

INCONTINENCE & PELVIC FLOOR DYSFUNCTION:

Bladder symptoms:
• Urinary incontinence – Stress and Urge.
• Overactive Bladder - urgency and frequency

Bowel symptoms:
• Incontinence of faeces or wind
• Obstructed defecation and constipation

Prolapse of pelvic organs:
• Bladder, bowel or uterine.
• Symptoms of internal dragging or heaviness.

Chronic pelvic pain:
• Women: Pain in pelvic, abdo, and vulval regions related to childbirth, surgery, endometriosis, or sexual pain.
• Men: Chronic prostatitis. Pain in perineal, rectal, bladder, genital or abdominal regions.

Surgery: Pre-op or Post-op:
• Prostatectomy
• Hysterectomy or prolapse repair.
• Continence and other bladder and bowel procedures.

Pelvic Floor and abdominal muscle weakness:
• Poor awareness or how to exercise these muscles correctly or effectively.
   

PRE & POSTNATAL CARE:

Treatment and advice for:
• Pelvic girdle pain (previously known as pelvic instability)
• Thoracic, lumbar, cervical spine and carpal tunnel pain.
• Mastitis, blocked ducts or engorgement.
• Childbirth education, including use of TENS.
• Postnatal recovery of third degree tears, other perineal pain and DRAM.
• Individual programs for pelvic floor, abdominals & general exercise during pregnancy.


Referrals from GPs or specialists are not necessary, but patients may be eligible for a Medicare rebate under the Enhanced Primary Care program.
